Prompt: When was the last time you got lost?

Mentally or physically?  That’s the really tough question.

Mentally, I’ve been lost just today.  I’ve got a gob of work to do and I just don’t know where to start, so that, to me is getting lost.  I guess the opposite of that is that I get lost dreaming about the different shapes or colors of things that I can paint, create or destroy.  Many people experience this as well, it’s called daydreaming.  Or as I like to call them, 80’s flashbacks.  lol.  Getting lost in daydreams isn’t a bad thing, as long as it doesn’t interfere with your job, or school, or life.

Think about it.  Where would we be in life if not for the dreamers?  Imagine if some of the “visionaries” in our lifetime hadn’t daydreamed. And let’s be real, there was some serious dreaming going on.  Think of the technology, art, business, education – well, everything that would be effected if there wasn’t any dreaming.  But this is another topic for another day.

The last time I was physically lost… It was around the time Hurricane Harvey hit Houston.  I was on my way to a friends house to borrow a dog kennel.  I put the address in Apple Maps and off I went.  And I never got there.  He had sent me directions, but I thought I was smarter than that, so I chose to ignore them and proceeded to get lost.   Lost in a neighborhood, at night, in a really rainy, wet environment when everyone is on edge.  I wasn’t scared, but flashbacks to “the Hills have Eyes” in the suburbs did flash across my mind.  It was easily rectified by falling on the sword and calling him.  I felt like an idiot, but got there easily enough when using the directions he had given…

When were you lost last?
