Unlike most people, Linda didn’t figure out what she wanted to be when she grew up until she was in her 40’s.   She retired from working in the Ophthalmology field after 18 years, and 3 years before that she was in the Radiology field.  She has also sold perfume door to door (worst. job. ever.), worked at a movie theater (where she met the love of her life) and was a secretary for a lawyer.  Embracing life, and the fact that she no longer needed to work, Linda retired from her ophthalmology career over 10 years ago and began the most challenging “job” of her life – a stay-at-home-Mom. Four years into being a stay-at-home Mom, Linda was having problems with pain in her hands so she decided to take up a hobby that would make her use her hands in non-repetitive ways.  Her love of clay was discovered.

Linda has 3  sons, all of who are Eagle Scouts, 4 dogs, and has been married to the love of her life for over 27 years.

Linda is a self professed Disney nut. She has a unique appreciation for the Disney Villains, especially Maleficent. On holiday to Disney World in 2014, Linda was irked that there wasn’t more Maleficent merchandise for sale.  Always looking for unique things, Linda decided to make her own Maleficent tea set when she got home.   After painting and giving away 4 tea sets in 2014, Linda was asked to create a unique set for one of her good friends to give as a birthday gift.   Knowing that most people would prefer to throw their sets in the dishwasher, she set out to create dishwasher/microwave and food safe sets. And that is how WhimsiKettle began.

Linda enjoys writing,  traveling, camping, playing video games and has to have music on at all times (usually Duran Duran, Sarah Barelilles, or Disclosure).  She likes to cook, but hates to clean.  She can’t make a cookie to save her life, but makes amazing pralines.  And for the record, it’s Pa-Kahn, not Pee-Can.  She’s either painting or sitting at the computer, with a paint brush in her mouth or hair and a cuppa in one hand and the other on the key board.
