Prompt:  Write about a time everything changed in the blink of an eye.

There have been several things that have happened to me that have changed in “the blink of an eye”.  I am only going to type about one of them, because I’m sure you don’t want me to drone on about things that would bore you to tears.

When I was 28, on the morning of 21 September, I gave birth to our first child.  My life, as well as my husbands changed in that moment when he was delivered and began to cry.

Richard and I had been married for 5 years when Spencer came into the world.  I am a semi-selfish person.  I don’t mind sharing or lending things or even giving you the shirt off my back, but be prepared for me to grumble about it later.  It’s unhealthy, I know, but that’s how I was (am, I guess).   I didn’t have a lot of experience with kids, even less with babies.  I never really babysat growing up (all my cousins lived around me and we were all around the same age), so I wasn’t exactly “skilled” in the mothering department.    Richard and I didn’t live together before we were married either.  I know that’s kinda weird for today’s couples, but we choose not to live together to honor his grandmothers values.  So when we got married, we felt that it would be best to get to know each other better first.

Richard and I had many adventures before Spencer.  And after Mr. E came into the world, about 3 years later, we started having adventures again.  Each time I had a child (thankfully only 3 times.  I don’t think my body could have handled a 4th), our lives changed.  For the better.  We have a small house, and it’s very, very lived in.  And that’s ok.

My life is amazing.  Richard is amazing.  My boys are, well, amazing.  I have my parents and sister close to me.  Richard’s Dad is less than an hour away from us, and his Mom and Sisters are a day trip away at the most.  We are blessed and I wouldn’t change any of it at all.
