I’m not a big “bling” type of person.  I would not consider myself a “girlie-girl”.  I will admit to getting my nails done monthly, and my hair colored every 8-12 weeks.  But that’s about it.  I’m a high-maintance-low-maintance gal.  If that makes sense.  But what I do like, a lot, is nice gold or silver accents on my tea cups, saucers or table settings.  Oh yes, give me the tea cup with the gold accent, I don’t care if it has a chip or not.

I’m a bit of a “Disney Nut” if you will.  I was looking for a specific tea for one set that I saw many years ago at DisneyWorld (and couldn’t buy since they didn’t have any more), and ran across this beautiful Cinderella Tea Set that was on cream colored porcelain with gold decoration. The castle, the dress… it was gold and cream and it was BEAUTIFUL.  Of course it was exclusive and very costly.  Now, Cinderella isn’t my favourite, Sleeping Beauty is.  More specifically, Maleficent.  But that’s neither here nor there.  I  decided to figure out how they did that.

A year (plus or minus) later, I have it figured out and I have made a successful run of it in my kiln.  No, this doesn’t mean that I am going to run out and make a Cinderella porcelain set, but it does mean that I am one step closer to being able to create a truly beautiful, one of a kind set.

Stay tuned for photos.  This is going to be a great adventure.
