This summer, I decided to take a ceramics class at my local community college.  I figured I could use the help, get some experience on different equipment and learn how to throw pottery on a wheel. I mean, if I am offering  custom pots/sets, lets make it totally custom and let me make the pot and cups.  Duh.

What I didn’t anticipate was how much fun it would be.
I was horribly nervous about the class.  Not so much from a knowledge standpoint, but from a personal one.  Let’s face it, it’s been around 25 years since I’ve been in school (for a semester). I really wasn’t sure what to expect.  I was terrified that I would be the oldest one in the classroom and that I would make an a$$ out of myself (I always do at some point).

To my relief, I am not the oldest in the class, there are quite a few of us ladies who are taking it.  I’ve met some of the most delightful women there are out there.  And they are so flipping creative!  But what has shocked me even more, are the young men and women in the class.  Everyone is so helpful, kind and so helpful.  It’s been a blessing to be able to be around so many creative people.

So this chapter allows me to view things differently, by gaining knowledge to help create an amazing piece of functional (or not) art for me, I mean you.

Stay tuned for photos….
